I ordered basic clothing (school pants and white shirts) from ASDA Direct online on 4/10 because they didn't have the sizes in my local store. After being told they would be delivered to a local store in 3 to 4 days, they did not arrive after one week and when I phoned the order hadn't even been processed. "System fault" they said. I needed the stuff urgently and bought the items in an ASDA store miles away. I cancelled the order by phone (offshore service I think) and was told I would get a refund in 5 to 7 working days. It is now 31/10 and I am still waiting. I phoned the freephone number - offshore again and he said he hadn't an explanation. I phoned Head Office in Leeds - I'll get a refund in 5 - 7 working days. Now where have I heard that before? I'm not holding my breath. I tried to fill in a review on ASDA's own review site - it said my password was invalid - rubbish. I will never use this hopeless company again and I only wish I had read these reviews previously. I've suspected ASDA has always been over-rated but this is my first (and last) dealing with their Direct division. Basically, they don't give a damn. I have the drag of checking with my bank until (hopefully) I get the refund.
