My wife and I have collectively over 400 000 avios points (enough for 8 return economy flights from South Africa to UK). I tried to use them to book 2 business class return tickets in May to the UK. There are no redemption seats available in Business Class on BA between Johannesburg and London from Feb 2013 to Aug 2013 (a 7 month period!! ). I thought there was an error on the website, so I phoned the Executive Club. The dis-interested call centre operator confirmed this and said there was nothing I could do about it.
What is the point of BA's frequent flyer program when it appears to be engineered to prevent your abality to use the the system? My loyalty to BA appears to be pointless.
