On all advertisements which appear in local newsspapers such as the Evening Gazette, and on all business stationery, this business states that they offer a full 5 year guarantee on all systems provided. I have purchased several alarm systems and also CCTV systems from this company for my business based in Middlesbrough in October last year. This was with a full five year guarantee on all systems.
The first year of the guarantee runs out in October, and the owner of the company has contacted me last month requesting that I pay him £100 for the next year of the guarantee. This will have to be renewed every year.
If you look at all advertisements that appear in local newspapers, the advertisement is a yellow box. This clearly states that a full 5 year guarantee is provided on installation of the system. This is not true, and you should avoid this company. Trading Standards have been informed as have all the newspapers that he advertises in.
