Im writing to complain about a member of staff whom, at around 18:40pm on 2nd March 2017, decided to complain in a purposely loud tone of voice, about how other customers and myself (or "them two over there" as he politely put it) were "using up our electricity" by charging our laptops...He rambled on about this for mintues. I've brushed off most of the rude comments, thinking he's just a bitter old man...But, considering I and many people I know actually pay alot of money for this service every month, I've decided to do something about it.
I apologies if using the companies electricity is something that is forbidden by Spelthorne Leisure center to do, but the plug sockets were situated in the canteen areas...not hidden, and I saw no signs stating that using technology, or plugging them in isnt allowed.
This member of staff, then went on to complain about how "if you want to do work, then get a pen and paper or go home and charge the technologies...I don't have a laptop, and I can still work so thats not an excuse, I just use paper"...
By this point I had looked around to engage eye contact with him, and yet he still contains to ramble on...all of this lasting approximetly 5 minutes.
I find this appauling. To talk so loudly and indirectly about customers in front of the entire Cafe, we have PAID money to use. If using the plug sockets is not included in this service...then that should be written in the contracts when signing up to the centre, or a memeber of staff can politely tell us otherwise. Considering I moved to this leisure center from Virgin Active ( who by the way, even PROVIDED their customers with desktop computers to use)...I am dissapointed, and will consider moving to Pure gym instead if I continue to witness this type of rudeness by staff members.
