Unprofessional owner of company who slept with employees! this was just one of the disgusting stories i heard whilst in code marketing in aug/ sept?!
before i continue i firstly want to say that i am shocked at the amount of content on the internet involving the cobra goup and even code marketing! in the future i will always research potential employers.
from my fortunatley short time there, not only was i made to pay for my own travel to various supermarkets etc in the north west, i also realised that the owner has no respect for any employees who he regularly talks down to and is rude to.
alex (cant remember surname? - any one know?) the company owner spoke down to me almost everyday i was their and i found him very difficult to communicate with as he seemed to only care how much money i was making.
after the 3 initial interviews, 2 of which alex taken and was professional, ambitious and interested in my goals, plans and hobbies, alex personally trained us in a internet and phone company called talktalk (who coincidently me and my boyfrend have had problems with prior to this!). this is when he started to show his true colours as his interest and motivation was non existent!
From that moment on he showed none of the new employees any interest apart from how many sales were done.
this filters down to the group of clicky employees who spend their day being rude to newer employees and slag off people who had left the company! and other company owners in different cities! i was told by a senior female that a company owner who does the same sales in the north of england was very unprofessional and sleazy.
this made me feel very uncomfortable and although there appeared to be one or two successful individuals i was made to feel like a number with very little support and little chance to progress. there were 4 males, one or two who were senior, who were very intimidating and showed no interest in helping any new people once out of the eye of alex. once in the supermarket i was regularly left alone and no effort was made to interact with me or involve me in any conversations.
it was the worst working atmosphere i have experienced! i felt unsupported. my trainer was a longserving senior male who recieved enormous amounts of daily praise and recognition from alex but spent most of the time smoking and talking to other employees when in the supemarket.
i am glad to have finished there but i still feel very angry to the way myself and others (who were always new) were treated in that company and advise everyone to stay away from code marketing and the cobra group.
