Cobra, Marketing
, Perpetual Marketing Con, brainwash, sham, mentally destructive Tyne and Wea

Right, where should I start... well, by now, some of you may have read about people unknowingly answering a small advert in their local paper... having a same or next day interview and being accepted for the second 'Observation Day'...Well, I was interviewed by Leon, he told me a load of stuff and by the end of the interview I had no idea what I was coming in for... same old story eh?

Well fast forward a year and there I am, building my crew with the best of them... being told day in day out that we are in the best business in the world, being told if you fail you're shite, if you quit, you're a loser and neg head, etc etc, as other people have said before, what transpired was I gave up a year and a bit of my life for knocking on doors kidding myself and countless others who were hired by me that all that was preached was true... looking back it's almost comical. Some people were getting less than 50 a week! times of work usually from 930am til 1030pm sometimes 11pm at night. On saturday it's classed as a half day... yet you're in at 10am and finish at 630/7pm!

Be warned... If you join companies that are related to Cobra you will, I promise, lose your girlfriend/boyfriend, miss out on friends/family life, become for no reason arrogantly obnoxious of anyone who doesn't work for Cobra... including your parents!

Most of the Owners I knew cheated on any wife/girlfriend they had, (anyone who's ever worked in the newcastle location will tell you that!) Treated the guys who made money like little bars of gold and slagged off everyone else who didn't perform...

Am now working with a guy who was in the newcastle office for CMS, walking round the worst council estates in the North East with a video recorder dressed in a smart suit trying to get examples of how the council hadn't repaired their garbage tip of a house... in the end he had to take out a 2000 loan to pay off a tax bill that came through once he'd left... as he was clearly told he wouldn't and didn't have to pay tax for 18 months after first starting... needless to say this is absolute bollocks and you have to register within a month to be self employed, but being a young 18 yr old he wasn't yet aware of this and naively trusted his new 'employer'. Need we say more?

The one good thing about my time there and one thing I think many people will find, is that they make good lasting friends... this is probably due to the bonds created through shared hardships and unique challenges... like walking through snow at 8pm trying to ring the bell while it's minus 5 and everyone who was sensible enough to get a proper job and live in a nice house tells you to 'F' off! But, that aside I did get to go to some good parties that manily involved copious amounts of drinks and other goodies!!

Last piece of advice, you will, without doubt, have seen an advert for them, as they have offices all over UK... anything like the following...'FHM - Fun Hard work = Money' and 'LOADED' ring for immediate interview' or 'New marketing office opening has 20 vacancies to fill immediately! ' anything like this and you will be going to a cobra interview. Please don't waste a second of your joyful life on this as it will end with you in tears... trust me.
