I had just parked my car in the supermarket, and was walking to the store, when an 'Italian' man driving by literally said 'Psst! ' He parked in a space and said that he was in the UK at an exhibition, but was leaving that day to return to Italy.
He said he had samples of clothes 'Reportage Giorgio Armani' that he wanted to 'get rid of' rather than carry back. He then showed me three mens' jackets (two leather, one suede) each of which he offered to give me free, together with a catalogue full of pictures of various dodgy blokes wearing these jackets (saying 'Very nice, eh? You like? '). He then produced a final lady's jacket which he kindly offered to give me half price - merely 300.
I told him I wasn't interested in the ladies' jackets, at which point the mens' jackets were offered to me for 100, and alarm bells really began ringing.
When I showed less interest he became a bit agressive, and didn't even shake my hand when I wished him a safe trip home. Felt slight regret that I might have got them for less as I did my shopping, but naturally by the time I came out he had gone.
