I recently sold my laptop on ebay and I was told paypal was the most secure way of being paid for things. Anyway the person paid via paypal and I had logged my item as a local pickup item only due to the amount of accesories with it and i didnt want it to get damaged in the post. Paypal contacted me and told me payment had been made and to arrange delivery. So i phoned the person and we arranged to meet up. He took the goods and four days later paypal said it was a fraudulent payment and I have lost a laptop worth 1, 200 plus 500 I was selling it for. They havent tried to help me recover any money or the laptop. I had seller protection but they say unless it sent via post and I can prove it I am not eligiable. I have informed the police who seem to be doing nothing either. On a local pickup item paypal should in my view never got involved in the transaction. Its through them I have lost what I have.
