PayPal appeared to be an easy and uesful method of accepting and paying money online. I opened 2 business accounts (I have 2 websites) and a personal account. I sold a few items (all under 50) on Ebay (I have 100% feedback and 60 entries - my username =lennylaptop, so please check) and I bought a few items on Ebay and paid for them using PayPal. On 25/02/04 vendors started to email me saying that my payments had been "reversed" pending an enquiry and alleged Credit Card Fraud!
Attempting to access my PayPal account only produced a screen requesting that I fax them my ID and evidence of the company address. This I did the same day with many more documents than they had requested, including Photo ID on a MoD unescorted Pass (very hard to get) a UK full Driver Licence, Company tel bills and invoices, etc. After several days I eventually received an auto respond email from PayPal (do not respond ...) subject "Status Change"
Now trying to access my account requested my Credit Card details (their 500 limit without verification was nowhere near being exceeded). There was and is NO WAY that I would give this bunch of fly by nights my credit card details after this saga and discovering and reading many other victims' reports on this website.
I have dispatched orders to all those people that paid me via PayPal and I will pay the vendors for items I purchased AGAIN. This means that I will have paid twice for some items and will not have been paid myself for some that I dispatched.
BUT, the money is not important. We are an old and established company with an unblemished reputation. I was LUCKY my whole business is not based on PayPal and Ebay nor on any ONE OTHER FACTOR. My financial losses are small compared to many PayPal victims. PayPal robs from the honest people to compensate for their huge losses to fraudsters.
They, PayPal are Robin Hood in reverse and I would like to REVERSE them for OBVIOUS FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY back to whatever manure heap they crawled out from. PayPal have now started to "conquer" Europe and the UK! Let them be warned that this is where they get their just deserts! England is a Small Island and we have 10, 000 plus past customers names in our database.
All have been warned of PayPal's CRIMINAL activities. I have updated both my websites www.pclaptopgarage.co.uk AND www.laptop-chargers.co.uk with NOPAYPAL icons and links to this excellent website (www.usaconsumercomplaints.com) We, the small people cannot do much BUT we can do something and if that something saves just one person from suffering the PayPal plight then it will have been worth it. I am intending to launch my own PayPal UK Victims Website soon and welcome emails from any UK residents that have become PayPal victims. I have instituted legal actions against PayPal both in the Civil High Court and the Criminal Court.
Unlike some PayPal victims (who unknowingly receive a fraudulent payment), I never even received a fraudulent payment from anybody and never added a credit card to my account fraudulent or otherwise! Apparantly, I have been told, that if you use your PayPal account more than a few times in one day, then their "very sophisticated" software (it's certainly very sophisticated, I don't think!)Freezes your account (s), charges back everyone that you have paid (sending them an email alleging FRAUD against you) and leaves you only with a hard to connect to fax number to fax all your personal documents. After several days you receive another automated email (with no reply option) informing you of "Status Change" BUT no email sent to your cliens who have had their payments REVERSED. This email requests that you check your account. There you will find a little box and the action required to activate your account is enter your credit card detail.
I am also informed that when you fax all your personal ID and details on their 08707 303 194 number the fax goes to INDIA! This must be very useful to TERRORISTS and FRAUDSTERS! IF I had known this I would never have faxed my documents to them and now feel like I have been duped TWICE! Enter my Credit Card Details and get ripped off for a THIRD TIME not on your nelly.
I will do ALL that I can to bring these activities to the attention of the British Public and the British Authorities.
