Andrew Dust came to survey our 4-bed Victorian house in N4. He produced no worthwhile advice, evaded questions on movement/subsidence and just glanced at the house without looking behind any moveable items of furniture/attic. He then sent us a short 2-page report accompanied by a huge bill. It was broken down into lots of tiny subamounts, and when I questioned this, he said this was for (1) leaving a message on my phone (1 min 30 sec); (2) updating files (5 min 5 sec); travelling to property (30 min at his full rate!); listening to a message from us on his phone (2 min 3 sec), etc. He was rude when I said I had never come across such business practices and sent us a threat to sue us. Never again -- what an awful experience. I have used many structural engineers since and realised what a mug I'd been paying his bill.
