MPH Engineering
Rough trade

I called Heathrow engine centre for repair. On 1st September they quoted £1195 to supply and fit engine and other components which I agreed. Furthermore, it was agreed that the above car will be delivered within 3 days, from the 2nd September when they picked up the vehicle to go to their workshop.

After two days I received an e-mail stating that it will cost me £1981”to get my car sorted”. However, we eventually agreed on £1850. I then paid the initial deposit of £700 to Paul with my debit card. On 7th September I phoned your workshop to check progress, and was told that all the parts have arrived, but I need to pay in full upfront, otherwise work will not start. I have had no option but to paid the balance of £1150 with my MasterCard. Paul then confirmed that I will have my car back by 9th September all repaired. I called the workshop on the 9th September and was told that due to a fault with the crane, my car will not be ready until the 11th September. I called the workshop on the 11th September and was told that the car will be ready the following day. I called the workshop on 15th September and spoken to Martin who passed me on to Paul. During the conversation, Paul suddenly said that the torque plate is broken and I need to pay another £290 upfront.

I called Southall Police on 16/09/09 and told that, I need to go to the garage and then call to police they will help me to get my car.

I went to the workshop on the 17th September to collect my car. I was asked to produce my identification which I did with my debit card. someone called Olivier took my debit card and photocopied the back side, I have no idea why? Finally I was then asked to sign a document which indicated that I instructed the engine to be removed again. I did not such thing and I did not sign the document.

I have also found out from my bank that £500 has been taken out by MPH Engineering on 7th September without my permission.

I called but this time Police only advice me not to sign the documents, but this nothong to do with Police also advice me to contact the trading Standard.

I called Southall Trading Standard, and they advised me to send a recorded delivery letter to the garage and mention them good and supply act 1982.

Which I did, then after a week I called them again this time I told to send another recorded delivery letter to the garage, which I did. I called Trading standard again this time I advised to send them another recorded delivery letter. Which I am sending on Monday the 12th Sept’09. Meanwhile I asked Trading Standard about my cars situation, they told me they don’t know about outcome but only help me how to do legal action.

Now the garage have my money and car. They are not sorting the car out not even returning my car. I am not getting help from Police to get my car back. They took money by entering my card number without my consent still I am not getting any justice.

Finally I am writing you this letter if you Please advise me how the Government propose to deal with this? How can I get my car out from the garrage, as I am completely broke and out of money and income at present.
