I contacted Wilson Tarquin for PPI misselling compensation after I heard their radio adverts.
They contacted me in June and told me I was awarded £5, 996.24 from HSBC, and presented an invoice for %24 of this amount (£1, 439.10), I replied saying I will pay the invoice once HSBC had made the payment. I was then subjected to a barrage of calls and emails demanding payment. I blocked their telephone numbers, and email and asked them to contact me by post only.
Finally after many calls was asked to present ID to an HSBC branch. I received the compensation (less around £70 which WT told me was taken as tax to HMRC).
I attempted to pay the invoice but the account details did not match, with a warning about fraud. This seems suspicious, so I have withheld payment until I receive confirmations that the account details are correct, together with an explanation for the mismatch. Which is the the subject of this complaint.
