I booked a van with this company in November of last year - and immediately alarm bells began ringing.
As soon as I'd put the phone down and paid my £50 deposit, a colleague overheard and said of a bad experience she'd had with them. She'd used them previously and when she returned the van and attempted to recover her deposit, they refused saying she'd scratched the vehicle, even though it was there before they even used it.
Anyhow, I thought I'd just take pictures of the vehicle before I started using this to prevent it.
I had hired the van to help my brother move, and wasn't told any terms of booking, nor did I receive a paper receipt. My brother had to work on the Saturday we had planned to move him and so I contacted Exchange Vehicle Rental to move the date of the booking.
The person that answered, Mr Evans was a totally different character to that which had answered the phone when taking my money, said I couldn't move the date and I'd lose my deposit. I was furious, especially as I was giving him a weeks notice. After no success, I agreed to keep the booking the same rather than pay £50 for nothing - which was more than a days booking for the van. He refused to allow me to take the van and hung the phone up.
I called back relentlessly and was told Mr Evans had gone out and wouldn't speak to me as he was too angry! Imagine how I felt!!!
Please be very careful when using this company - I'd rather pay 2 days with a reputable company than go anywhere near these in future!!!
