Do not lease long term or short term housing with this company. Their hostels are fine but these people take advantage of those who are new into the country. They provide accommodation without the need for references or bank statements as this is a dream come true to those new in London. But it is too good to be true. They lock you into a 6-9 month contract and if you want to leave you will simply lose your bond. Which is a big knock for someone who is new. And of course you will want to leave as their houses are crap. The houses are dirty and you are using living with 15 - 20 people. It is impossible to end your lease and they charge you unnecessary fees. They say that if you want to leave all you have to do is find someone to replace yourself and then you lose 1 weeks rent from your bond and the new person has to pay an additional weeks rent to come into a lease midterm however, even if you find someone to replace you, you may not even be allowed to leave. It states in your contract that early termination is not a right of the tenant. So the only option is to lose your bond if you want to leave. They force you to agree to terms and conditions in their contracts as you are desperate for a home but do not provide half of the services that they promise to. The rent is very high and not value for money but you simply just agree because you have no other choice as you are new in London. They do not register your bond. They charge you £12 admin fee to pay your rent by cash and the only other accepted form of payment for your rent is bank cheque which can cost up to £20 to get in the first place. They charge you £50 for a written or verbal reference and there are coin operated washing and drying machines in the houses. Because I am unable to pick up my bond in cash as they wish to return it during business hours (and I cant be at home since I work) I am being charged £25 to have my bond returned to me on my debit card. Just another fee they charge. Their main clients are international people so they can just take advantage of people who have no friends in London and do not know that they are getting a bad deal and by the time they have realised, its too late and they are stuck in a 9 month contract. They do not answer your calls or your emails when you complain about the state of the house or the fact that the water is cold or that the electricity is blown or how the wifi is terrible. They do not provide the services they promise but they don't care about you the moment you pay them your bond. They promise the world and deliever nothing. They do not care about their tenants at all.
