Salvation army Gold street kettering northants
Proof of exemption

On my entry to your Gold street store in Kettering I was met by an abrupt woman asking for my medical exemption. On the Gov.uk website it states to ask for proof of exemption is an offence, and company policy does not supercede Gov.uk guidelines. The lady in question made me feel so uncomfortable in front of other customers, it really upset me. The Equality Act 2010 section 29 5 (a) states I do not need to show proof of my exemption. I would really like this complaint to be followed up as I wouldn't want any other person feeling the way I do today after visiting your store. We are asked to shop local and try to help out the smaller stores which is what I was trying to do. I will not be entering your store again due to the welcome I received today and this is a real shame because the work you do as a charity is outstanding. Hopefully you can rectify this for other customers. Thanks. Nikki Raines.
