They either don't provide what you pay for or don't care when they get it wrong RIPOFF Preston Lancashire

My own experience started three years ago when planning a trip to meet the relatives in Australia. After trawling the internet for deal after deal I finally found and booked the best flight deals that suited us via Airline Network. & Gold Medal Travel. Good price and not bad service. The staff were obviously commercially minded and enquired as to what our plans were when we got to Australia. I explained we were catching up and staying with relations but were starting on our own with a trip to The Barrier Reef. They advised that they could match any offer we find on the web. So after forwarding them the deal we were opting for they matched the offer and the booking was a done deal.

Bad move. The package purchased was not the same as offered on the web with a chunk missed out. So when we got home I complained to Airline Network. & Gold Medal Travel and basically TOUGH.

So then onto this year and again we planned a trip to Australia. Thinking on the previous disaster we opted to use a local travel agent. Again good deal including flights to and hotel at the amazing island of Lankawi.

Slight alarm bells, it turned out the travel agent booked our deal via Gold Medal Travel.

Being the ever optimists we headed off for our trip. Everything OK until our planned flight to Lankawi. Silk air had changed the timetable seven months before our trip, told Gold Medal Travel but they did not tell us. So when we turned up for the flight on a Monday out of Singapore we were stunned to find that the flight had been changed to a Tuesday. Thankfully Singapore Airline helped out with a hotel for the night and we eventually got to Lankawi the next day.

So once home we got onto our travel agent who got onto Gold Medal Travel who said we should have reconfirmed our flight 48 hours before so TOUGH. A bit surprising as they had been told seven months before but did not tell us a couple of weeks before when we received our tickets and more so as I checked the web for our travel itinerary the day before we were due to fly to Lankawi and it was showing for the Monday. I remember that well as I got propositioned when going to the internet cafe. But that a different story.

So basically if you pay peanuts you get monkeys all be it Gold plated.
