Redsave.com
Disgraceful Ripoff Company

I purchased a remote control helicopter for my boyfriends birthday which was faulty, when i sent it back to Redsave they denied ever receiving it. Five months later i find that they have been taking £19.95 from my bank account each month as a 'subscription', that apparently i signed up for. I have been in touch with Redsave and they told me there was nothing they could do about refunding the subscription but they would send me a new helicopter. When i received this one it won't even take off. I have now been told that i can't get a refund because i had 28 days to return the item and they are counting it from my first purchase date five months ago. This maybe their policy but it is not law under the Sales of Goods act 1979.

This company is wholly unethical and i believe it is set up to ripoff customers by signing them up to a subscription that is not clear as you don't start paying for that subscription for 3o days after first purchase. They take the money out of your account as a card transaction, which i believed had to be approved at each transaction but my bank tell me otherwise. Costumers will receive nothing for the subscription, not even an email every month promoting the company and goods, which all the other internet companies i have ever bought from and have not subscribed to do send. This, i believe, is so customers attention is not raised to the fact that they are paying nearly £20 per month for nothing! Customers can always buy at so called Redsave prices, they just need to know they have signed up to a subscription and cancel it in time and shop there as many times as they like. Although this is not illegal it is a questionable way to do business that prays on the general public who buy in good faith.

I have read many complaints about Redsave.com. They are very difficult to contact, I have got hold of their telephone number which is 01202674050, the company you get through to is Net Ex, ask for Redsave.

Whilst there doesn't seem to be anything I can do to get my money back from the subscription totaling £80, I am getting advice from Consumer Direct, Trading Standards and the Information Commissioners Act. I have also made a complaint to Watchdog after reading all the similar complaints about this company and their highly unethical way of doing business. I strongly urge everyone out there who has had a similar experience to do the same. Lets put pressure on these shoddy internet shopping sights so that other people out there don't get ripped off.
