Items are not working and no refund is given

I purchased two laptop batteries, however, later realised they are based in China although their web site has a .uk ending. Second, the received batteries did not work, and to get a refund they asked to return the items. I provided all proofs in support of my claim, however, they insisted to return the items which can not be shipped out of UK as these are marked as 'non shippable items.' Therefore these companies MUST not be allowed to do business in the UK.
