Acer Laptop
Botched repai

I sent my Acer laptop back to Acer during the last month of the warranty as it needed a new keyboard and touchpad. When it was returned to me the keyboard would not work so I sent it straight back. When it was finally returned in January the 6 month old replacement battery refused to work. I contacted Acer and they said it must be a defective battery so I ordered a replacement.

When the battery arrived it still would not work. I did however notice at that moment that if I put pressure on the battery the charging light lit up! Then I discovered the problem. The screw holding the case together nearest to the battery connection was loose and held in with super glue! How could Acer do this?? It appears to have been over tightened and snapped inside the machine. This is causing the battery not to connect with the power. I used a wood clamp and carefully clamped the laptop and battery together, this enabled me to charge the battery. It works fine as long as the laptop is clamped! I have contacted Acer 4 times now they have finally replied and said that as the laptop is now out of warranty there is nothing they can do!!! I also have a new £100 battery I did not need to buy. I have asked for a further managerial decision but up to now I have had no reply.
