My family and I were travelling to Scotland, we stopped at the Manchester Services on the M6 motorway. As we arrived we pulled the car up and locked it up as a silver car pulled up in front of us and an Italian looking man asked my husband if he spoke French or Italian. My husband said no and he continued to tell him that he'd just been to Birmingham with some colleagues to sell some jackets. He explained that he had 4 jackets left over and due to export and import charges did not want to take them back to Italy with him. He then showed us his passport and ticket back to Italy and asked for 600 for the 4 jackets.
My husband said no and said he would pay 300, to which the man readily agreed. My husband gave him 300 out of his wallet and he said thank you and continued on his way. Just prior to driving off he said, I don't suppose you'd be interested in this one too, he brought out a lovely looking suede Armani jacket in navy blue. He very bravely said that it was large and that it looked that it would fit your wife (bloody cheek) however, he was right. My husabnd gave him only 50 for this jacket. He then continued on his way. We continued to have a cup of tea and lunch and thought it was a very weird experience.
However, since being back home I've been on the internet and to my surprise have found he has been all over the world, or him and colleagues of his. All giving the same story. I am wearing the blue suede jacket but the other four are still packaged in my wardrobe and I haven't a clue what I'll do with them. Nevermind, I'll not be caught again. Having said that the jackets are very nice quality and were after all VERY cheap.
