Tingdene Barnsdale lodge

We purchased a Tingdene Park home (50'x20' Barnsdale Lodge). This was purchased 20/07 and delivered on the 26/11. As mentioned in other peoples complaints once they have your money (you have to pay up front or they don't deliver) they treat you like ****.

The transport company and siter was Titans Transport was informed by Tingdene homes this was the best company that they used to transport and site our home. We were not impressed with the siter's as they complained that the 25 metre entrance on to our site was not large enough for the lorry to get into, then when they were manoeuvring the two sides into position they collided into each other causing considerable damage to the exterior logs which then needed to be replaced, the siters then proceeded to connect the two sides together and it was pouring down with rain and they instructed a very young lad who had been working with them for only two weeks to go onto the roof and to do the connections and fit the ridge tiles in doing so he walked on the Decra Park tiles denting in excess of thirty tiles which at the time we did not know about. When the siter's had finished we had our own electrician and gas engineer commission the park home and we inspected the sited home, the faults were numerous (to many to list here). Our gas engineer found the the combi boiler was faulty so we could not move into our park home until after Christmas 2007 OVER A MONTH TO FIX A FAULTY BOILER.

Tingdene response its a wooden home and things do come adrift when the two sides are being transported.

We have 15 engineers job sheets that he left with us that's without the ones he took back (with notes on for the remedial work that still needed to be carried out), The first job sheet had 61 faults that needed to be rectified this was started in February.

We have had most of the faults rectified to a fashion (and some of them are still on going) by an engineer that was called Darren the (bodge it man my Wife called him) who when was told about the dented roof tiles he said he was instructed to get on the roof drill holes in all the dented tiles insert a screw and pull the dent out then fill the screw hole with mastic which we were told by Tingdene was not the correct way to remedy the fault and sent him back to us to replace the tiles that he drilled with new ones in doing this he managed to rip the felt under the roof tiles by putting his foot through it in numerous places. We have had trouble with the roof ever since and it still leaks TODAY. The last visit by Tingdene engineers was in April a group of 4 of them to try and rectify the faults from day one and the new ones that was made by other engineers they did do most of the faults and it all looked great but then we have had torrential downpour's and the faults that were supposed to have been repaired are still in evidence.

We have managed to live with and rectify some of the faults ourselves even though I am over 60 years old but the roof fault has gradually got worse and now the water pours in through the roof and has damaged most of the ceilings and walls in our Park Home. The response that we have been getting is that your home is out of warranty and they have done everything that they needed to if we had spent more money and taken out there insurance we could have still been covered for the leaking roof that has been faulty from day one.

We live on a campsite that we own and was intending to buy more Tingdene park homes to fill our five acre site but after the fiasco with our own park home I don't think so and as for the HELPDESK it is the most unhelpful help desk that's in existence and the managers who say that they will call you back NEVER DO.(always seems to be in meetings when you try to contact them).

ARE WE HAPPY WITH OUR TINGDENE HOME.

WHAT DO YOU THINK???
