Avoid Billy at all costs and if you are unfortunate enough to have to deal with him, make sure you have a detailed written contract, stand over him while he works and pay no money until 100% satisfied. His work is shockingly bad, his guarantee is non-existent, and he will mess you around if you need any remedial work. He has no standards, no trade skills and will cut corners if you don’t watch his every move. He was so bad that I had to take him to court and the judge agreed his work was not what was asked for, was well below standard and was unsafe, He ordered Billy to repay my money, which I’m still chasing him for.
Billy was contracted to remove and replacing wet dash render on 2 chimneys, filling some cracks on an external gable wall, removing a rotten wooden roof fascia and replacing it with plastic. The work was carried out while I was away so I didn’t see the finished article until after my wife had paid him, due to his harassing her to do so. When I inspected the work, he had applied dry dash instead of wet dash straight over the old blown render, had filled only some of the cracks, had fitted the plastic fascia directly over the old rotten wood without removing it first, hadn’t fitted end caps to it and the sealant he ‘finished’ it with was everywhere, lumpy and horrible. Not only did he not do what was asked, the work he did do was so badly done that I’ve had to have it ALL stripped and redone by someone who was actually capable. Billy isnt
