My complaint is about the cartridge world franchise in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom.
I will accept some of the responsibility but what they did was not good business practice in my opinion.
I was in a massive hurry to get some ink cartridges refilled so decided to take them to cartridge world in lincoln. My research suggested that it was more expensive to have them refilled than shopping online but i was in a hurry.
As it happened they did not have stock of the required parts so had to leave my cartirdges with them.
Unfortunately I was out of the country quite a bit and when i called them to pick up the cartridges they quite unashamedly told me that they sold them. They informed me that they had the legal right to do it if i never picked them up in reasonable time.
My problem is that just because there is small print on the counterfoil that indicates this, it does not mean that it is good business practice to do it.
How would you like it if you dropped your car off for a service and they sold your car just because you was taken ill in hospital.
They had my full contact details which meant they could have called me but instead they decided to sell them on and make a profit. It seems that they would sell thier grandmother to make a profit.
They insisted that they had called me but making a call and getting no answer or persisting until they get hold of me are 2 different things.
Yes, i know i am not perfect but i run my own business and i can assure you that i would not sell other peoples property regardless of what the small print says.
They insisted that they told me about the small print but they never mentioned it.

Some people may think i have only myself to blame but if i was running the cartridge world franchise then i would not sell on my customers cartridges. You have to think of the repeat business.
What they have done is upset me enough not to ever use cartridge world in Lincoln ever again.
I actually went on ebay which directed me to an ebay shop that supplied me with brand new catridges for alot less money. They was genuine parts aswell. When i mean less money i mean i saved around £30-00 and got new. Must be better than having refills.
I have always thought that cartridge world was too expensive. Maybe they are cheaper than buying from PC world but look at the following options before doing it
1) Buy a refill kit and refill them yourself. Refills kits can be bought online or maybe from a supermarket.
2) If you cannot be bothered messing around with refiulls then shop online. Try ebay power sellers or an ebay shop who will supply genuine parts for a fraction of what it costs at pc world. it will probably be cheaper than cartridge world.
i managed to buy my cartridges for alot less money on ebay than having them refilled at cartridge world in Lincoln.i even got genuine parts.
if you are particularly bothered about the environmental aspect then you can send your cartridges away to have them refilled. The cost is massively lower than cartridge world.
Cartridge world spount on about how environmentally friendly it is to refill a cartridge but they charge too much and have a shop on the high street is not as eco friendly as having an online business.
my advice - dont use cartridge world in lincoln. they are not ethical people.
i also heard that other people sent cartridges to cartridge world and the results were not good.
