Suede shoes changed colour

I bought a pair of pale grey suede lace-up shoes from John Lewis in March / April. They are very comfortable, but they have changed colour, very disappointing as I bought the pale grey to match other accessories. It is very noticeable under the lacing on the tongue, the color they should be. I have never been in the rain, just worn them in summer conditions. You can see from the photos from the soles of the feet how little they have been worn.
