I purchased an Elddis Xplore 530 in August. During a routine service in 2016 cracks were discovered in the rear panel. This was repaired under warranty in January. After travelling
around 20 miles to another dealer in February cracks were discovered in the same panel that had been replaced less than one month earlier.
I took it back to Eglinton Caravans and told them I was going to reject it. I was told they couldn't afford to buy it back (this has been denied by them).
They also conned me into signing a form for goods they supposedly bought from another dealer
in order to complete the repair. In reality the form I had signed was to confirm that I was happy with
the original repair. This shows that they cannot be trusted.
Elddis are well aware of the problems with their caravans. Eglinton Caravans are refusing to reimburse me at the market value. On the second occasion Eglinton asked for my permission to repair the caravan after I rejected it. I did not give them permission but Eglinton Caravans went ahead with the repair anyway. On the first occasion I was waiting around three months for it be repaired. On the second it was around two months. Therefore I have had the inconvenience of not being able to use it. The caravan was certainly not fit for purpose. Mr Lymburn from Eglinton Caravans has admitted that there are problems with Elddis caravans. I had been a customer for a good number of years but
would never purchase anything from them again
