I received my first phone call about this in September. The person was very rude, said that i owed them money for a payday loan taken in 2004. I told this person i had no idea what they were talking about and asked them not to call me at work. The company continued to call me at work on various dates. They were rude, harrassing, threatning me with legal action. One day "AJ" got on the phone with my supervisor and was also rude to her and even told her that they would hold her responsible for my debt. They tied up every incoming phone line of my company for 20 minutes. I was extremely embarrised. I tried telling them that i did not work here anymore. Tried hanging up on them etc., the calls kept comming. The only way i was able to stop the phone calls was to make payment arrangements. After over an hour of talking with this guy on the phone we agreed that $30.00 was to be taken biweekly until debt was paid. He said if 10 payments were made on time that he would give me a $500.00 discount on my bill. I have now made 14 payments. I asked him how much i owed and he said i still owe $800.00!!! I was outraged. He wanted me to pay that amount over the phone that day. I advised him that i would not an that i was now requesting validation of this loan. He said there is nothing to send me because it was a paperless loan. (I have never heard of such a thing) He said the only thing they had was recordings. I asked him to send me copies of the recordings and he said he cannot do that either. He said the automatic debits would continue until the debt was paid. I told him i wanted them stopped. Once i got off the phone with him he send me an email stating dates and amounts on which my bank account would be debited. I have gone to the bank and stopped payment. I have written to the better business bureau and will be writing to the attorney general's office. What this company is doing is illegal! He even threatoned to come to my work and get the money from me. How can he do this without even one shred of evidence that of what i owe? Im now worried that the harrassment will start again now that i stopped paying. I hope there is someone out there reading this that can help. There are thousands of people who have been unduly harrassed by this company. Also, there are reports of this company steeling money from bank accounts that was not authorized. They think because they live in the United Kingdom that they dont have to abide by any rules. Please anyone who needs $ dont go with this company. They are scam artists and are doing business illegally.
