NCO
Collection harassment, fee fraud

Orange UK mobile phone belonging to Account No xx84 has been stolen on 25-07-07 at 2am and report filled under Police Crime No 3316480/07. I reported it twice calling 07973100150 at 3am and 7:40pm. At 3am Orange agent insisted to give him Police Crime No to terminate the account.

At 7:40pm another Orange agent hung up the phone when I tried to give him Police Crime No, after spending 4 hours on Police Station, saying he doesn't need it since the account is already terminated. Not at all, as from July I was billed by the same Orange even I did use the phone and line was death.

I received Orange final bill for GBP113.16 dated Feb 1 and scheduled it to pay on Feb 13 by BACS. The bill hasn't had any specified due date. On Feb 17 a collection letter was received from NCO claiming GBP113.16 and contract charge of GBP30.00 with an illegal offer: "Should you wish to reconnect to Orange our client is prepared to connect you FREE OF CHARGE and payment of the outstanding AIRTIME will be only balance due. To take advantage of this special offer we require PAYMENT IN FULL of the airtime and direct debit set up with Orange for future payments".

On Feb 28 Antony Turbitt of Abbey Bradford which calls yourself a Business Manager, Customer Account Service Excellence, phone: 08456 090014 has notified me in his letter dated Feb 18 that destination sort code of Orange is allegedly not correct - it was correct all time as being used at least 8 times before.

I went in person to the bank and scheduled 2nd payment of GBP113.16 sending a letter to Orange with copies of the payment receipt and Mr. Tubbit's letter the same day i.e. Feb 28. Since then NCO is sending me postcards and letters claiming further fees. Their customer service doesn't pick up the phone.

I don't owe Orange nor NCO anything. I even paid for service I did not receive as Orange wasn't able to offer anything except lies. Orange just ignored the fact the phone got stolen despite of evident police crime record. All NCO does is account manipulation, fee hunting and fraud. Upon this scenario I can't exclude that Abbey payment delay was setup to abuse me with further groundless collection fees.
