Wentworth Direct
Con Men

I had exactly the same problem with Wentworth Direct - I saw their advert "No Obligation Application" and thought i would see if i could get approved for the loan. Anyways i turned down the loan only to find come payday that they had deducted £59 from my account without informing me or getting my authorisation. This was 4 weeks ago. Everyday for the last 4 weeks i have sent them the same letter of complaint to both of the addresses they are registered to. I called my bank who are well aware of this company and what they are doing as they have had all their customers calling them for help. I was informed that they rarely win the moeny back as Wentworth have said in the small print of T's&C's there will be a brokers fee, but they also put it down to Admin fee's which is why they tend to get away with it. Well finally after 4 weeks of receiving this letter daily they have rung me and agreed my refund!! :)

I know how it feels to have your moeny stolen or to be conned so i am going to show you guys my letter and hope it helps you. I have also written to trading standards about this co. This company has been doing this for years, if we don't keep complaining about them then they will continue to scam people out of their hard earned money so my first bit of advice is to write to trading standards.

My second bit of advice is to write a letter if not daily then weekly to them same letter etc an keep record of when you sent them how many you sent and the dates. It really helps if you threaten them with national papers, trading standards and telling them to expect a phone call from your bank.

Here is my letter:

Dear Mr A Clayton

I am writing this letter to convey to you how furious I am with your so called “no obligation company”.

I recently viewed your website as I was possibly looking into a loan. It was never definite I just wanted to see if I could be approved. I was happy to use your website as on the main page it says:

“Typical 15.2% APR. You are under no obligation by completing the application form All applicants must be working either employed or self employed. We are licensed credit brokers. All loans subject to final verification. Consumer Credit Licence No: 469755

(THE EXACT WORDS OF YOUR WEBSITE)

All I did was fill in your application form thinking I was secure in the fact that it was a no obligation application... Well wasn’t I wrong.

I received a phone call from your company regarding a loan which I informed them I no longer required. Notice that I didn’t even ask for details of the loan or which company I would be getting it from I simply informed them that it was no longer required. So with this in mind could you please explain to me why my account has been debited £59 by your company without my authorisation?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?

Clearly as I was thinking of applying for a loan I am not made of money and I do not have a tree in my back garden which grows it, so what makes you think I would pay you £59 to find me a loan???

I am absolutely LIVID as I have a direct debit which has now bounced because you took my money and I am now being charged by the bank daily as it will continue to try and take the direct debit until sufficient funds are in place!!

I expect a full refund, and any charges I incur by the end of this month and if I have not received a response from you within 1 week I will be taking this up with trading standards and reporting you to the internet providers, who are allowing you to advertise lies and scam people out of their hard earned money.

You know very well that I turned down the loan, I never even asked to be put through to the company you had found!! I said I was no longer interested and asked to be removed from your mailing list which funnily enough you haven't managed to do either. So why did you take the money??? I have found a website that say's I have to wait 6months before I get my refund... If I have to wait more than 1 month I will be reporting you to the police for stealing. You took that money without my authorisation knowing that I hadn't accepted the loan. I have been in touch with my bank also so you can expect a phone call or letter from them too.

I HAVE SEEN PLENTY OF REVIEW SITES AND THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINT ABOUT YOUR SITE, TAKING MONEY FROM PEOPLE EVEN THOUGH THEY NEVER AGREED TO ACCEPT THE LOAN, SO FUNNILY ENOUGH IM NOT THE ONLY ONE YOU HAVE MANAGED TO SCAM AND PISS OFF ON THIS PLANET,

IF THIS DOES NOT GET SORTED WITHIN THE NEXT 20 DAYS I WILL BE REPORTING YOU TO TRADING STANDARDS, I WILL SET UP A WEBSITE WARNING PEOPLE OF YOUR LITTLE SCAM, I WILL MAKE IT PUBLICALLY KNOWN WHAT YOU ARE DOING TO PEOPLE I HAVE A LETTER AND ALL THE E-MAILS I HAVE RECEIVED FROM YOU DRAFTED AND READY TO SEND TO EVERY LOCAL AND NATIONAL PAPER, AND DON'T BE TOO SUPRISED IF YOU SEE YOURSELF ON WATCHDOG IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS.

I WANT THIS SORTED NOW, I PROMISE YOU I AM BETTER AT KEEPING MY WORD THAN YOUR STUPID COMPANY AND I MEAN EVERY SINGLE WORD OF IT.

I WANT A RESPONSE FROM A SENIOR MANAGER BY NEXT WEEK.

They are also registered to 2 different addresses:

1)

Wentworth Direct Finance, FREEPOST SEA9712, Gravesend, Kent, DA13 0BR, UK.

2) Unit 4, The Mews, Wrotham Road, Meopham, Kent. DA13 OQB

Send your letter to both addresses as i am not sure which one they are actually operating out of.

Also don't bother with the e-mail address they have given as it is full and will just return the e-mail.

I really hope this helps guy's i know how horrible a feeling it is to know someone could do that to you.

Hope it helps

GOOD LUCK

Jay
