BEWARE: STAY WELL CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY
Having done research on diet supplements I decided to try a combination of Acai Berry and Colon Cleanse as an aid to losing weight.
I Googled these products and one site that came up for both was Effectivecleanse.com. It had an attractive offer of a 30 day trial of both products tied to an ongoing supply order with a cancellation opt out.
I sent for a 'free' trial of both products from this company. It stated clearly that it was a 30 day trial and that I could canel at any time within the trial period and only pay delivery charges.
I cancelled within what I thought was the trial period and had email confirmation of cancellation. However, this company charged my credit card more than £70 for each product. On complaining I was told that I hadn't cancelled within the trial period, when I challanged this I was directed to the small print of their terms & conditions.
I was horrified to find that whilst they made quite a play on the 30 day product trial on their site, the actual trial period was only 14 days from placing the order. So with time for delivery I had about 11 days to cancel without penalty.
This site and company are purposely misleading the general public, although they are not really overcharging for the products they charge a subscription fee for their 'club' and it is this that I had to pay.
Undoubtedly my fault for not checking more thoroughly - I was caught by this CON don't you be.
