Niels Peters, from Poespoes cattery (Ramsgate, Kent, UK)
Problem with TICA breede

I would like to inform you about my story with a TICA Bengal cat breeder...

On the 26th October we purchased two Bengal kittens from Mr. Niels Peters, from Poespoes cattery (Ramsgate, Kent, UK). We knew him from his internet site (http://www.poespoes.com) and got confident with him because he was a T.I.C.A and G.C.C.F. registered breeder.

We have been in contact with Mr. Peters, by e-mails, since March. We live in Switzerland and went to London with our children to pick up the kittens as it was arranged in October. All went more or less well, but since then we have many problems with Mr. Peters.

We paid 800£ for each kitten comprising kitten, vaccinations, spaying-neutering, transport to London, rabies vaccination, chip and European pet passport...

When we received the kittens Mr. Peters told us that we would receive by post-mail a certificate from T.I.C.A., confirming their T.I.C.A. registration and pedigree, in the next 7 to 10 days (as they already have been spayed-neutered).

We still didn't receive anything from TICA, or from Mr Peters.

I wrote to TICA and they informed me that it is the breeder who is supposed to give or send the certificate and pedigree after registering the kittens with them and that they don't send papers themselves to the buyer (so Mr Peters just lied to us telling TICA would send us the certificate and pedigree)

We also received as was accorded a European pet passport confirming their rabies vaccinations and vet certificate they were ready to fly to Switzerland. That was in order and the flight home went without problems.

But when we arrived in Geneva we noticed that the other vaccinations they were supposed to have received (flu and enteritis at least according to his internet site) were not written down in the pet passport and Mr. Peters didn't gave us any other certificate.

We also noticed they probably had scabies and they both got quite seriously ill in the first few days, with flu. We were quite worried and they both needed to be treated with antibiotics for almost two weeks.

I asked repeatedly Mr. Peters to tell me which kind of vaccinations they received and when, but he never really answered and I am still not quite sure if they got any and when, as he never send us any certificate.

We also noticed in the pet passport that their birthdays were not corresponding with what was accorded. The boy was supposed to be born on the 6.6.2011 and the girl two days before according to mails we previously received from Mr. Peters.

In the pet passports the birth day written was on the 16.4.2011 for both of them.

As you will also see in the second mail annexed we still don't know their exact birthdays, but I suppose it's on the 6.6 for the boy and on the 16.4 or 1.4 for the girl, which is 2 months older than what she was supposed to be (5 months).

Mr Peters is not answering anymore to my mails.

All we are asking for is to get our vaccinations cards with the vaccinations they received and the dates, and to receive their T.I.C.A. registrations and pedigree.

We are quite deceived as we pay a lot of money for them and we have the feeling that it's as if we just bought two kittens from a street breeder and not from a registered T.I.C.A. breeder, from whom we would have awaited more responsibility and so to say after sale service.

When Mr. Peters received our money it was finished with us and our kittens!!!
