My flight from London Heathrow was cancelled even though we were already on board the plane. It was a bit of a disaster for me as I have a 2 year old who was being sick and I had run out of spare clothes, I was traveling by myself. They did not allow any suitcases to be taken off the plane. Two ladies only from SAA, were very helpful, but this gentleman known to me only as Pip went out of his way to get me nappies, wipes (dropped off at 1am), and clean clothes for my child (dropped off at 8am) and also dropped us off at the overnight hotel along with some other passengers needing extra help.
He really went the extra mile and I did not think people could still be so selfless in this day and age
