A British photographer named Lucas Joaquim emailed me a make-up artist job offer in Glasgow UK. I checked his website and was excited to work with him. I know there's a lot of scams out there that's why I sent a report to the my embassy in our country to check if he is a legit employer.
While waiting for the report's outcome, we continued with our correspondence thru mail and chat. He sent me a service agreement and I returned it to him with a sign. We agreed that I'll be paying for the 30% of the VISA Fees while heill take care of the rest. I agreed, thinking that the fees are not so expensive. He then asked me to mail all my VISA requirements to [email protected] and asked me to update him re its status. After 1 day, I recieved a full quotation and instruction from the said agency. Visa Fees are around more than a 1.5k GBP. I told him that I can't have my 30% covered at the moment and asked him if I can pay my share once I get there or if he can deduct it to my salary. He refused. He said he need it to process my VISA a.s.a.p.
Since there are two more weeks prior to the date of the shoot, I made my own research with a friend about him. He also posted a job poster seeking for Au pair Nanny. I added him on FB and saw that he doesn't have connections with genuine British Folks. His website, home of Lugs is not credible too. the photo from the ABOUT ME page doesn't look like the bald person in the HOME page and on the avatar image on his YM account. His photography works doesn't have a unique style or signature which most genuine professional artists have. It seems to me like a hodgepodge of stolen photos from photographers elsewhere.
He called me through an international number. We checked the number and its nothing like the correct line that Glasgow residents should have.
I believe he is a fraud and that he'll be getting away with this for the long time if people aren't informed. I was hoping at the earlier stage that he was real because I really need money at this point.
