On the night 1/9/10 me and 7 friends enter the ASDA store in Ayr. within 10 minutes of being there we had been verbally abused and accused of stealing by staff for no other reason that one of us could not be bothered carrying his jacket and put it in the trolly (BESIDE googs that we planned on purchasing. not on top)
When we went in we went to the sandwich cabinet and picked up 7 or 8 sandwiches between us. we then proceeded to the DVD isle. we were being followed by a member of staff but that was understandable. it was the middle of the night and there were quite a few of us. when one of my friends hung his jacket on the trolly this member of staff (John) instructed us "Get that fucking jaket out of there" and when i asked for a reason he said "just get it fucking out".
At this point we decided not to go ahead with our purchase due to the way we had been treated however we wanted a word with Johns superior who he proceeded to call down. (This store does actually employ a security guard by the way and she could not have been nicer. she treated us the way customers should be treated)
His superior was "Kevin" however he was joined by a woman called "Barbara". She was obviously some sort of manager and proceeded to be even more rude to us than john was. She accused us of stealing and lying. She slandered TESCO and admitted that her shops security set up was in fact illegal.
I am very eager to find the correct address to send an official complaint. anyone speaking to a customer the way these people did deserves to lose their job.
