Dateline UK Ltd
Failing to comply to advertisement features

This Dating agency offered the highest service in respect of privacy and discretion even to the extreme of sending an analyst to assess the conduct and appearance of future members. I was informed that the dating site was directed towards professional people and everyone would have a photograph. When I eventually logged into the site, there were only a handful of unsuitable men with photograph the rest were faceless individuals. I took out membership with this company on 29 June this is valid until 4 September when I have been offered a ‘one off’ special update for £90 and the company foregoing the £15.00 per month ‘service fee’.

This company have misled not only me but also many other people and I feel that I am making a justified complaint. I am also reporting other members’ comments for your attention.

Dateline Platinum is a very expensive online dating agency - arguably the most expensive one there is. You have to pay your money upfront (£395) and you don't get to view any matches until they have that in their bank account.

When you do get access to the site, you are disappointed to find that the number of clients is extremely small. The search engine does not work. The results page shows users from all over the UK, and it is difficult (or impossible) to filter them so that you are only looking at your district. Most of the clients do not have photographs. I am a bit suspicious about this as I was told when I joined that my profile would not go live until I provided one - so are these anonymous clients real or not?

I have asked for a refund of my extremely high fee of £395, but no joy. Dateline won't budge.

May I warn anyone out there considering joining this site not to WASTE their money. For £395 you could have many months of subscriptions to a variety of other sites who may actually have some clients on their books.

Good luck with your searching - but you won't get anywhere on Dateline Platinum I fear.

When I first approached Dateline Platinum I was told that there were loads of members in my age group and area. That is not true, I paid 295 which was a special offer for a poor service. Following this, a lady called Gail came to my house to interview me and arrived 1 hour late (very unprofessional). I logged on to the site a week later only to find spelling mistakes on my profile, incorrect information and only 3 members in my area, only 1 of them was in my age group. The website didn't even work properly. I feel I have been mislead and conned as well as lied to, I am very aggrieved. I now intend getting advice from the Trading Standards, unless they refund me in full which I have asked them to do. Their website is appalling and the problem is you cannot get onto it to see what it is like until you have given them the money and then its too late. They say they do things differently, that is certainly true, they don't do anything at all except make big mistakes and they are without doubt very unprofessional. Photos are missing, profiles are not completed and I have my suspicions about this so called dating site.

My advice, DO NOT JOIN THIS AMATEUR AND INEFFICIENT ORGANISATION, they are without doubt disorganized, incompetent and unproductive, they are fit only to be closed down and I wish I had never joined.

As they say hindsight is a wonderful thing.
