Upon entering the club we realised how packed it was with people excited to see Forever Queen as we were. However we realised as non-members how unwelcomed we were. Once we found a space for the two of us to stand where we could see the band playing, I was approached by an elderly gentleman who told me very rudely to move out of his way as he had paid to see them (just like me). After how rudely he spoke to me I told him no since we were doing exactly the same as him. I then felt my arm being grabbed where a man told me to move and since the man had complained, after explaining how rude the gentleman was he politely spoke the man. But at which point he came back and got up in my face shouting at me. My only response was I would like to watch the band and not be patronised by members of the club. He didn't take my response very well to which he then decided to start shouting at my Nan who was oblivious to what was happening and told the bar staff to refuse us if we wanted a drink. We carried on listening to the music and dancing until we turned around to get a drink and he was stood directly behind me starring at me. At which point he decided to push me towards the door, I couldn't get through the crowd and he still pushed me, so I turned around and asked him to stop touching me. His response was to smirk at me. We carried on through the club and got to the door where he then proceeded to shout at my Nan in her face and I stood between them and shouted "enough". I turned around to the man at which point I was so angry I was shaking and did exactly what he did to me and shouted in his face because he would not leave us alone. His wife then flew at me from behind me and shoved me backwards to where I stumbled. I told him and the crowd of members that had gathered to make sure we got out of the club and said its okay for a man to do that to a woman but not a woman to a man and he replied "call yourself a woman?! " And slammed the door in my face and locked it.
I was harassed from 10 minutes after we entered the club to when we left. I am outraged to see the man running the club to get physically and verbally abusive. We then walked round to the next pub to find out that his name was STEVE.. I would just like to mention that I had stayed totally calm and tried to enjoy the music until he started to push and shove me.
Not one member of the club said anything and all, in fact, brushed off the incident because they didn't want to be facing the brunt of what we were.
I am disgusted by this as someone who has never ever stepped foot in the door of the club or even knows anyone there. However I would recommend going to see Forever Queen to anyone who enjoys tributes to Queen.
