I was "officially" offered a position of General Manager Projects with an unbelievable package consisting of GBP 13610 Tax free plus allowances as follows: Hazardous / Inconveniences, GBP 4600 monthly; Car Maintenance, GBP 2500 monthly; Housing and Furnishings, GBP 4000 monthly; Entertainment and Recreation, GBP 3000 monthly; Travel and events, GBP 4500 monthly. Total package GBP 32210. I have worked in many Countries worldwide and did not suspect any fowl play. However when I received the quotation from the Company Lawyer to obtain the Isle of Man Employee Accreditation Certificate I could not find him registered with any Bar worldwide. This made me suspicious and I with a lot of effort could trace the Company, Isle of Manannam Construction Ltd to whom I sent the "Employment Offer" just to find that their Human Resources / Employment offices had no such record of the offer given to me. Had I sent the GBP 925 required for the certification I would have been out of pocket by South African R 17000 which in our terminology is a lot of money. PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS OF SUCH UNEXPECTED INTERNET JOB OFFERS ESPECIALLY WHEN UPFRONT PAYMENTS ARE REQUIRED. Hannes Hendricks
