Many people will, and have been caught by this. They have no connection with torrents whatsoever. It appears that they are charging extortionate fees for 'technical support' and links to, what are totally free downloading applictions, such as uTorrent. However, they leverly don't publish phone numbers for this so called technical support. If you have signed up for the 1.99 free trail, the price will have been boosted before approving credit card payment. Try to cancel within 7 days to receive all but the $1.99 back as a refund.
If you wish to cancel, ensure you have the ID number (should have been sent by email).
Number from UK is 0207 099 1805, you will be transferred to a company called marketbill.com, who are part of the same organisation anyway.
- Keep calm.
- Explain that you do not require tech support for this readily available free software
- Request a refund
- Demand that the account is closed, and ask for a confirmation by email
- Confirm that no further payments will be taken from your card
- If no email received, call again - and again if necessary and again...
If more money is taken from card, stop a use of your card and request a replacement with a new number
