I posted furniture for sale on Kijiji. This was my first time using a service like this. Within 5 minutes I received a text from an interested buyer asking a couple quick questions. Then without wanting to even see the merchandise, the buyer agreed to purchase it and said payment would be made via paypal.By late evening I received notice that the buyer has transferred money to my paypal account for an amount equal to the purchase price plus shipping fees. I received further notices, two from paypal stating the funds would be on hold until I transferred via western union the money to the shipping agency and instructions on how to verify with paypal that this was done, and another from the actual shipping agency. Red flags went up immediately. First of all the sale was way too easy which made be suspicious but as soon as I was being put in a position to put out money before getting any I knew something had to be wrong. I found this website with similar stories and thank god I did. This was nothing but a scam from start to finish. Beware of any transaction that occurs this way. Names will change but the constant will always be that you are being scammed!
