My company name is Beautopia Spa over 3 months ago we purchased a consignment of teeth whitening kits from a company called HUAER TECHNOLOGY IN China. The company filled the import documents in wrong and UK customs refused them entry in to the UK. The choices I received was, for the kits to go back to the supplier or the shipment would be destroyed, which I would have to pay for.
The reason the kits were not accepted was in the UK teeth whitening gels can not exceed 0.1% carbanide peroxide. The air ways bill completed by Huaer Technology clearly states the content of carbanide peroxide to be 16%.
We have documentation showing the order for the gel to be 0.1%
and Huaer agreed they had filled the air ways bill stating the wrong percentage but still refuse to take responsibility.
Huaer Technology refused to except any responsibility and even suggested I bribe Customs and Excise, After much debate and complaining they then agreed to pay half of the shipping back to the UK, (this had taken so long I was now told I would be charged £1200 for storage by BA) Huaer then reneged on this arrangement and said they would pay the shipping cost back to the UK once the kits were back in China. However they would infact not pay the shipping but compensate us by sending more kits.
The total cost on top of the initial purchase would then be,
Export back to China £930.00. $1441.00
Import back to UK £1200.00. $1860.00
Storage cost £1200.00. $1860.00
Total £3330.00. $5161.00
I would recommend anyone thinking of doing business with
Huaer Technology are very cautious at the very least.
