I took advantage of their so called 'free trial' of 'acai berry' and 'life cleanse' tablets. It was supposed to be paid for postage and handling. Shipment was stated as 3-5 days to Australia. I received the tablets after 14 days.
I paid the postage price which came up on my credit card statement. however, when I checked my balance, another $287.34 had been debited from my card by this company. I rang the UK, and stated that I was now aware of the 'scam' and a rude irrate man was very arrogant, stating that I had to cancel the order within 15 days, via phone or else I would be billed the full amount for the 'free trial'. I told him that I had only recently received the tablets. He commented that the 15 days was starting from the first day I placed my online order, and there was no allowing extra time for shipment to overseas countries. I asked if he thought this policy was 'fair', his remark was, 'No it's not fair, but it's just the way it is! ' Charming!
I have had to close my credit card to prevent this unscrupulous company from
just dipping into my account whenever they feel like a bit of extra cash. I have lodged a dispute with my bank to try and recover the money, but it seems retrieving any money will be doubtful.
I am a single 56 year old woman, and the money they have taken is more than half my weekly salary, and I had to cease taking the tablets because they gave me stomach pain, nausea and insomnia (the 'life cleanse' has some sort of caffeine in it... very good for detoxing I think not!)
These people need to be stopped! Can't some government body intervene?
