Call of Duty MW2
Been hacked

The messages below are between myself and 'technical team' at Acitivision might be easier to read from bottom up:

Customer 10/29 01:42 PM

What kind of advice is that? I have asked if my personal information is safe and you lot have diverted away from the question. I have made print screens of our emails and I shall be making a complaint to Acitivision, Sony and BBC Watchdog. You will hear from my lawyer within 96hours from now (21:39GMT) if a resolution has not been found and given satisfactory assurance that the Data Protection Act 1998 has not been broken and in conjunction I would like to know what information is being on Acitivision's database.

Response (Jay Burton) 10/29 10:54 AM

Hello.

You can create a new PSN account and cancel your old one. That will make sure your information is not at risk, and you would be able to start over in Call of Duty.

Customer 10/29 09:10 AM

But there is a possibility that my privacy has been broken via your software. I have contacted Sony and they have said it is a problem with Call of duty

Response (Flaviano Arroyo) 10/29 08:54 AM

Hello,

They should not have this information unless you have given it to them. The Sony Playstation is not our system so we do not know what other users have access to.

Customer 10/29 08:48 AM

I need to know if my personal information is safe of not. I have my credit card details on the PS3 from previous purchases. My address and contact numbers are also there.

Response (Flaviano Arroyo) 10/29 08:35 AM

Hello,

We do not know what it is that has actually happened to your account. As stated before you have all the information that is available at the moment and we all we can say is that this is being looked into. At this moment we do not have any more information than what has been provided.

Customer 10/29 08:31 AM

I have recovered my gamer tag but still have the same issue. Is the explanation you have given an assumption to what has happened?

Response (Flaviano Arroyo) 10/29 08:25 AM

Hello,

If you go back to the original message that was sent to you, it reads "This issue is currently being looked into, though we cannot provide an estimated time for a resolution.", which is why you have not received a resolution.

Please read all the emails carefully, as they state that you can try recovering your Gamer Profile, though that may or may not work and that the issue is being looked into and again that we cannot provide and estimated time for a resolution as this issue is being investigated.

Customer 10/29 08:21 AM

How has this person gained access to my system? Is any of my personal information at risk? I can't do any of the stuff which has been shown on these videos and I don't want to. I want to play the game normally. You are giving me information on what 'people are doing' but not giving me a resolution to my problem.

Response (Flaviano Arroyo) 10/29 08:09 AM

Hello,

There is no blame being shifted to anyone. In order for your game to be modified it must be done by someone else. In order for them to have that kind of access they need to modify their game system. None of what you are experiencing would be possible without a modified game system that can access the developer console commands of a game. This seems to be an issue across the board on many online games. This is something we are working very closely with Sony on.

The previous message was fairly clear and detailed, even letting you know where to look and see for yourself. If there is any part of it that you do not understand, please let us know which part so we can explain again.

Customer 10/29 08:04 AM

My console has not been modified. Are you trying to say I have been hacked? If yes, what information are the 'hackers' able to collect from me? Are you trying to shift the blame to Sony?

Response (Flaviano Arroyo) 10/29 07:57 AM

As far as an explanation, they are readily available on the Internet.

PLEASE NOTE: THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS NOT SUPPORTED BY ACTIVISION, BUT IS INFORMATION THAT IS AVAILABLE ON THE INTERNET TO THE PUBLIC.

As shown on various sites, such as www.youtube.com, if you search modified PS3 or Jtag PS3 you will see what happens when people modify their Playstation 3. Once the Playstation 3 has been modified it allows the users to modify the game. This is to show that it is not the game that is being directly "hacked" and rather the console being modified that allows players with these consoles to have "Developer" type tools available to them. Until Sony addresses this and makes their consoles inaccessible to these modifications by common users you may be at risk of having your account modified in any game you play online.

Customer 10/29 07:52 AM

Have noticed it has happened to only my Assault Rifles and Sub Machine Guns... but still I demand an explanation.

Response (Flaviano Arroyo) 10/29 07:31 AM

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Activision Technical Support. This issue is currently being looked into, though we cannot provide an estimated time for a resolution.

What has worked for some people, but not all and may or may not work for you is deleting your game account and then contacting Sony to help you restore your account to your Playstation 3.

Sometimes this will load your account with the last data save on the server. Again, this works for some people and not for others and is not a guaranteed fix though this is being looked into, but there is no estimated time for resolution.

If you require further assistance please E-mail at the customer support link http://activision.custhelp.com and click on the "My Stuff" Tab. Use your E-mail address to log in and leave the password blank. (Request a password reset if it does not let you sign in).

Note: Do not worry, if your incident gets set to solved, your incident automatically gets set to a SOLVED status after 96 hours. You can always add new information to your inquiry at anytime by logging into your "My Stuff" account on our support site. Whenever you add new information we will be alerted and we can continue to help.

All my weapon attachments have disappeared and I've paid to be entered in a tournament. How do I get my weapon attachments back?
