I bought a fuel pump off ACME for the price of 385, it turned out I had bought the wrong part so i returned it the day after receiving it still in its original packaging unopened. they informed me that the would be keeping 215 of my 385 to cover their costs!
when i said that wasnt acceptable he claimed that he was charging me 215 for re-stocking, a labout and a surcharge!
I have spoken to Consumers Direct who have advised me that they are obliged to refund every single penny under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000. in their original quote for the part they said the part cost 370 and delivery was 15, they did not mention labour costs, restocking fees or say the part was not refundable.
The company are still refusing to refund so i am now taking them to the samll claims court.
BEWARE OF ACME AUTOSALVAGE THE ARE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL UNTIL THEY GET YOUR MONEY THEN THEY ARE VERY VEY UNREASONABLE!
