Our in-store experience at Dreams was fine, my husband and I were greeted by friendly and helpful staff, we managed to find the bed that suited us, payed in full, booked delivery date and off we went thinking that all would be smooth running - why would we expect anything different.
Our bed was scheduled to arrive in 4 weeks. The day before our bed was to arrive, we received a phone call informing us that Dreams would not be able to deliver the next day - needless to say this was frustrating as we had just moved into a new house and were sleeping on a blow up mattress, which does not make for a happy sleep or happy back. We payed for a Saturday delivery so that we would avoid having to take time off work to receive the bed. After they cancelled it, they told us that they could deliver it that Monday - the reason they said they couldn't deliver it on Saturday was that the supplier did not have the mattress we ordered - how on earth would they be able to source this mattress in the next 3 days. This did not make sense, but we refused the Monday delivery, as we didn't want to take time off work. The next date they could give us was 2 weeks later - even though they messed up, we had to pay in time.
2 weeks later, we phone to confirm the delivery on the Saturday, which was agreed to and guaranteed by Dreams. Saturday comes around and we are left sitting at home the whole day waiting for our bed to arrive, and NOTHING. They didn't even call to let us know they could not deliver - even though we had the delivery date confirmed. So we had to phone customer service and arrange another delivery date, which was guaranteed by a manager for the next Sunday... well you can imagine what happened, sitting at home the whole of Sunday (after having confirmed the delivery date yet again a few days before), nothing arrives, not even a phone call.
All this time we have been sleeping on a blow up mattress while all this time Dreams have had every cent of money that was owed to them - how is it fair that what is owed to me is no where in sight.
In short, I will not recommend anyone buy anything from Dreams that they cannot pick up and walk out of the store with them right then and there. Otherwise you will be in a world of pain (quite literally from back ache, having slept on a blow up mattress for 2 months). And what kind of compensation can we expect? I'm sure it will not come even close to making this all seem worthwhile.
Non-existent customer service, worst company I have ever dealt with.
