Lakhani Group ruined my wedding day. I had several meetings with Anit and Snehal prior to our wedding and they promised the world and delivered far from it. After the initial 50% deposit was taken they were incredibly difficult to get hold of. After a visit from my aunty at their office they eventually started returning my calls. They said they would give us discounts and freebies if we paid upfront and on the day couldn't even deliver what we had paid for let alone the free things they promised.
On the morning of my wedding I saw Anit at 7am with only 2 members of staff. They had almost finished setting up the mandap and only had chair covers and the fruit display to set up. He tried to sell me the idea of no chair covers and bows and I made it clear that I wanted them. At 10am my brother told me that he had disappeared and that the chair covers and bows had been left in a black bag in the corner of the room. I had 100 members of my family tying them in time for my husbands arrival! Furthermore there was nobody to man the very limited fruit display and no foyer decoration.
In the evening I called Anit and he said he didn't want to talk about it until Monday or tuesday which is completely ridiculous and tried to lie himself out of the conversation. E promised tomorrow woul be perfect and the next day he was impossible to get hold of! With reception decor still due that day and Anit unreachable I called Snehal. He had the nerve to say that I was treating him with disrespect! After about 100 calls to him he eventually turned up but the decor provided looked cheap and tacky and was not what we had paid for at all. We may as well have not paid for anything and it would have looked the same. There was no LED lighting, the centrepieces didn't look anything like the ones we'd chosen, the chocolate fountain dips were all wrong, and the top table looked hideous.
I put years of effort into planning my wedding and they single handedly ruined it. Instead of enjoying my day I spent all day worrying about whether they would turn up and then analysing everything they hadn't done.
The only thing that will hurt the Lakhani brothers is getting back my money. They don't care about anything else. I will not let this go. I have hired a lawyer and will be seeking to claim at least 50% of my money back. I have also written to the Leicester Mercury and Asiana magazine about my experience. If anyone else has had a similar experience I urge you to do the same. I'll never get my wedding day back again but if I can stop anyone having to go through what I did then it will be worth it.
