Parfect Removals
Highly unsatisfactory service

Contracted PARFECT REMOVALS RICHMOND to pack and remove furniture from Twickenham to South Wales. Two PACKERS took three days to pack, not the agreed one day. The majority of time only one packer turned up, the other going for a job interview within two hours of arrival at premises. Packed books into boxes which were too large/heavy for subsequent removers to carry. Still did not complete job promising that packing would be completed on day of removal.

DAY OF REMOVAL Turned up in a hired 7.5 ton truck which had to be returned the following day, with 3 men not the promised 4, past 10.00am for a 200 miles round trip? No blankets, trolleys or lifting equipment despite fact furniture had to be lifted through 1st floor window. Approached work with a "bull at a gate, could not care attitude" and when requested to please show some consideration for furniture and personal effects walked off premises got into van and drove off. Came back and sat outside premises for approximately one hour in deep discussion. Came back and agreed to complete the move. Customer tried in vain to speak to manager by telephone but all requests refused, no one in company prepared to take responsibility. Managers/ responsible persons identity kept unknown and refused by receptionist who promised to come to sort things out but never turned up.

PACKING THE VAN

Packers to complete packing the house did not turn up despite several requests (Customer completed packing with help of friend). Removal men complained it was not their job to pack and hence began to hastily pack van with objects and furniture in van not blanket wrapped as promised. Furniture piled on top and against each other without protection. Customer, wife and friend had to assist in carrying and safeguarding furniture and supervising as company did not appear to be that experienced (one was a builder). Furniture supposed to be in South Wales by 5pm but at 5pm still packing furniture so poorly unable to get it in to 7.5 ton van. This was a stale mate situation as company staff did not know what to do. At this point an alledged supervisor came over and told customer "not to worry"! despite fact that furniture should now be 200 miles away in South Wales but was still outside his front door. Company supervisor then requested customer pay for second van to complete removal. When customer protested that he had a quotation the company supervisor said that it was not a quote but an estimate although emails and agreement to date showed otherwise. Company supervisor refused to help out unless second payment made for second van and customer refused requesting furniture be unpacked and put back in home. Situation only resolved when member of company staff agreed to bring his own van and for a smaller charge deliver surplus furniture to South Wales the following day.

JOURNEY TO SOUTH WALES

Parfect removals got lost on the M4 and arrived in South Wales at 1am the following day, having left London approx 7pm. Customer, Wife and friend had to assist carrying and lifting and supervising again until 3am in the morning to ensure that furniture was safely put in the home as by this point customer had lost all faith in removal mens capabilities. Customer sustained chest/muscle strain (customer in 60's), some furniture including valuable grandfather clock arrived scratched and upholstered goods and boxes arrived wet through as van was leaking.

Rest of furniture came next day thanks to helpful removal man who was not part of management structure who made second journey without sleep. Customer complained to Sheeka at Parfect removals, receptionist, who still refused to give identity of manager or person responsible and no apology offered and no remorse shown, attitude arrogant, evasive and rude. Company insisted on cash payment which customer only paid to out of compassion for the three inexperienced hard working members of staff who had worked a 24 hour day in contravention of health and safety and working time directives.
