Hi i am writing to complain about a recent mot we had carried out at young and partners. the car is a ford fiesta on an 07 plate which we have owned for several years. the car failed on what the examiner said was "headlamp aim beam image obviously incorrect nearside" he came out and asked if we had the bulbs changed recently, i said no not for a few years well someone has bent the pin in the back, have to take the whole lamp out to try and fix it it. can you do it now i said but was told i'd have to book it in, how long would it take i said and was told could be 10 min could be an hour so i booked it in and drove it home. once home i took the back cover off the light and found that the clip holding the bulb wasn't on properly. i clipped it in and it was fine, took me 30 sec. i took it back to young and partners and asked if they could retest it as it was fine didn't need fixing, no i was told he's in the middle of an mot, can he not do it after, no he has another booked in, can he not do it before he books the next one in, i'll see said the receptionist. well he did take it through came through and said it was a bad fix the beams too low i had to adjust it up! well considering there wasn't anything wrong with it in the 1st place how can he say it was badly fixed. the car has passed all its mot's on the lights since we've had it, never had any problems, now i'm not saying he dilibrately messed with the bulb to create work for themselves but i found it very strange that the bulb was fine before the mot and did not need the whole light fitting taking out to repair it.the mot examiner was rude and obnoxious and i am disgusted that a large dealer would cheat and scam people for work that doesn't need doing to a car. i expect that from a cheap back street garage that charges £25 for an mot but not from a so called reputable dealer charging £43 . neadless to say we will never return here again and other people should beware
