Notice that the address of the lottery company, and the fax number and web site of the winnings holding agent have all changed since William's posting on 25 June. (Email received on 5 July.) When I looked for http://www.cash-change-uk-ltd.com the page came up as being "under construction."
This email originated from one IP address and claims to be from another. Neither of these is the same as the address of Lucky Strike Lottery UK, since we don't know what that is from this email. Sometimes this is a good way to do business, sometimes it is a way to cover one's tracks.
I definitely did not enter my email address in this drawing. This was spam, plain and simple. As William suspects, when you have to pay to get your "prize" it isn't free. Is anyone willing to fork over an amount between $5000 and $5500 to find out if this is on the up and up? I think not.
The email states that this is the "Catagory A" drawing, implying that there are more and more levels of drawing... And what about the allusion to the end of year drawing for 50 million BP? "... we hope that with a part of your prize you will participate" - yes, I bet they do. Read and beware.
