I have just received a call from Nathan from ASTAR telling me obviously what he and everyone else at Astar are trained to say, that I had won a two week holiday to Florida and the Bahamas for me and three of my friends and family... I just knew it was a scam, He was far too pushy to be genuine and tried to force the issue of me paying with my visa debit card for 15% of the holiday... I said no way! He tried to convince me that he was genuine, thankfully I am sensible enough not to give my card details over the phone to anyone, especially someone / company that I'd never heard of.
I just happened to have my laptop on my knee and put ASTAR in and saw all the complaints that were logged whilst he was still on the phone, I said thanks but no thanks if I were going to book a holiday, I would do it via a reputable company and not one that rips people off and cons everybody.
I just wanted to say thanks to all who had written warnings on here, It eneded our conversation rapidly once I told him that I knew exactly what he was doing... He hung up!
There must be vunerable people out there who will fall for it... PLEASE DON''T EVER GIVE YOUR DETAILS TO ANYONE COLD CALLING.
