I am writing to tell you my story about a company that rips hundreds of people or small businesses off every day under the name of Angel Springs - a water cooler company.
After a period of 2 weeks free trial, I started a one year contract with them back in June 2015. We have a small shoe shop so we thought it would be useful to have fresh water for us and the clients, but throughout the year various additional charges started to appear...environment charge, sanitation charge, extra bottles, or even a charge for entering congestion charge to deliver the water.
In November 2016, after serious financial losses due to pound being weaker, I have decided to give up the contract with Angel Springs so I called them to let them know. I was shocked to find out that, the contract automatically renews itself for another year if you don't give them 3 months notice before the yearly contract finishes...I was so upset! Clearly, this is not right...I haven't given my permission to enrolled in an automatically renew of the contract! I wasn't even aware! I asked to speak to somebody about the cancellation...but there is no telephone number for this and the sales team won't redirect you. Finally, after 2 weeks of waiting Sarah Harris calls me to offer me a smaller monthly fee + sanitation charges clearly telling her that I won't be using the water cooler. But she said, 'you will pay less than what you are paying now because there is now way you can come out of the contract earlier'. I had no choice than to accept this.
To make sure I give them plenty of time notice for cancelling the contract, I have sent Sarah an email with our notice of contract cancellation on the 1st December 2016 clearly asking her to confirm receipt of the notice. And there's another shock...no reply. There's even more, on the invoice for December there is this £42 additional charge 'Annual congestion charge'...something that I haven't heard when I initially signed the contract nor I would ever agree. After threatening them that I will report them to Rip-off Britain, they issued us a credit for the above £42; however, I have once more written to them to cancel the contract and they continuously refusing to acknowledge our notice. I have written another email to another staff, Rebecca Hollyoaks, and no response. I have sent an email to their general email, [email protected] and again, no response. What do I have to do to get out of this contract? If you look online they are hundreds of bad reviews about them, I'm so sorry I didn't look into this myself in June 2015, but honestly, who would've thought? It was supposed to provide me with cool refreshing water....but it has proved to be my biggest nightmare.
