We have Just bought a Bovis home with the incentive deal of the Lang and Potter furniture package.. Apparently we are the first on the Cranbrook site. Unfortunately we are very disappointed with the quality and finish of the curtains and kitchen window blind. All of the curtains and linings are completely screwed up and have been hung on curtain poles that are not centred correctly above the windows. The lounge curtains across the patio doors, the ones that should have had the most "wow factor" on entering our home for the first time, look like dust sheets have been thrown up and they are too long, hanging on the carpet. They have been made without thought to being the correct width, so the very creased lining is visible at the outer edges. The hems are badly finished and some stitches are coming away on the leading edge of the curtains.
Bovis have taken far too long trying to rectify the problem. They have not kept us informed after the initial enquiry made to your company. We were told you would not recommend steaming out the creases in case of shrinkage. There was no other comment made and the sales team only came to try and replace the lounge curtains on Christmas Eve. A small box was presented with another pair of badly folded and creased curtains with an expectation we would put them up ourselves! After inspecting the so called replacements, they were in a very bad state and the stitching was actually worse than the originals. This is totally unacceptable after paying a huge amount of money. Our expectations were sky high when learning your company fit out Princess Yachts. I doubt a multi millionaire yacht owner would be offered such shoddy and appalling workmanship.
We expect no less than a replacement for all the curtains. All to be pressed and transported correctly as expected for made to measure curtains and to be hung correctly. We want the poles to be fitted correctly and a blind for the kitchen that hangs straight and does not crease on one side as it is opened.
Apart from all the above, we are still waiting for a worse disaster to be rectified. We chose a vinyl floor for the hall, lounge and kitchen as we have pets but to our dismay there is carpet on the ground floor. Bovis have given us no dates for the removal and re fitting, or any suggestions as to where we and our pets go for the required two days or where our furniture will be stored. The hold up has been with your company apparently as it had to be agreed! We did not ask for this situation but so far there has been no contact or any apologies or compensation offered from your company for any of the inconvenience caused by all of the above. We left it in the hands of Bovis quite rightly but are now frustrated and impatient for things to get done so we can move forward. Photos can be supplied but a visit from your company should be made as a matter of courtesy.
